Bill Mumford serves as Senior Vice President and Division Manager within Newland’s East Region. Bill provides strategic oversight to projects and teams in the Charlotte, Wilmington, Charleston, and Northern Virginia markets. With a focus on process and structure, Bill also leads national initiatives, including standardization of development budgets and management of costs through effective tools and reporting.
Bill has over 20 years of experience in various aspects of planned community development, including engineering, construction, scheduling, land acquisition, cost management, and agreements. Since joining Newland in 2002 as a Construction Manager for the Charlotte communities, Bill has been instrumental in the acquisition of several projects for Newland’s East Region. Prior to joining Newland, Bill spent several years within the disciplines of construction and engineering working on heavy highway and roadway projects along with the design of a variety of civil projects, including residential development and municipal facilities.
Bill holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Charlotte and is a licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina and New York. Bill has guest lectured for the UNC-Charlotte, Masters of Real Estate program, is a member of Urban Land Institute and the Charlotte Home Builders Association, and serves on the board of directors for the Catawba Lands Conservancy.
