Bill Olson is the Senior Vice President for Newland in Arizona. In this role, he leads a team of skilled professionals in research, land planning, development, land sales, finance, and marketing for Estrella, a 20,000-acre master-planned community in Goodyear, AZ. He is responsible for maintaining the community’s unique character while simultaneously driving revenue and community growth, retaining existing partners, and attracting new homebuilders and residents. Having learned firsthand that great relationships are the foundation for long-term success, Bill works to develop lasting, mutually satisfying partnerships and growth opportunities for Newland team members, homebuilders, and other stakeholders.

Bill's background of more than three decades includes leadership roles spanning most real estate asset types, including at Del Webb and The Rouse Company. As Vice President at Rouse, he led a team of 125 professionals and was engaged in the development, marketing, and management of large urban mixed-use projects in Phoenix, Portland, and Seattle. Prior to joining Newland in 2013, Bill was the Managing Director, Designated Broker, and Qualifying Party for Hines Interests Limited Partnership and was an integral part of establishing and leading the international development firm’s Phoenix office for nearly 17 years.

An active industry leader, Bill holds a board position with Westmarc and volunteers time to Andre’s House and other charitable organizations. He is a former board member with National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, a USAF honorary commander, and board member with Fighter Country Partnership (supporting the USAF). He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the Home Builders Association of Central Arizona, Valley Partnership, Institute of Real Estate Management, and International Council of Shopping Centers. In addition to graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science from Arizona State University, he also holds a State of Arizona real estate broker’s license and a dual general contractors' licenses along with several real estate certifications/designations.
