David Newman

ADVISOR – MINNEAPOLIS

"I’m passionate about creating communities where residents advance their dreams to build a neighborhood where people desire to live and gather while also protecting the environment." — David Newman

David Newman manages the day-to-day operations of the Twin Cities market. He has a wide variety of responsibilities that include researching and negotiating the purchase of development sites and securing the proper governmental approvals. He manages a team of builders, engineers, planners, lawyers, ecologists, and other consultants necessary to design a great community. David works tirelessly to make sure that the development is consistent with Newland’s vision to create an outstanding community where people are proud to live.

For over 25 years, David has been involved in creating communities—physically and sociological—giving people a safe environment and a sense of community. Working on a number of award-winning communities, he has been involved in creating over 2,500 home lots in the Twin Cities area. David has served on several industry-related committees and is a frequent speaker on sustainable development. In his role as a Board Member/Treasurer of Hope Community, David helped lead an organization that is committed to creating safe communities and healthy housing in a formerly blighted neighborhood of Minneapolis. Volunteering for the past 11 years, David leads an effort to create a model for Nicaragua’s poor rural communities to end extreme poverty.

David received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Minnesota and a Juris Doctorate from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, MN. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker and serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Tradition Capital Bank, Edina, MN.
