Scott Jones, Senior Vice President, provides operational leadership to the development of Newland’s diverse residential mixed-use communities in the Puget Sound Division. He is responsible for leading a team of talented professionals in developing and executing each project's business plan including vision and long-term growth, entitlement strategy, community master planning and design, infrastructure development, residential sales programs, and commercial development.
Scott began his career with Newland 15 years ago in Tampa as Vice President and General Manager where he managed three of Newland’s communities: MiraBay, Waterset, and Covington Park. Scott also led the acquisition of the Lake Hutto development which is now a part of Newland’s highly successful FishHawk Ranch. Prior to joining Newland, Scott was a traffic engineer in Boise, Idaho with Six Mile Engineering and Morrison Knudsen. Scott graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and currently serves on the Community Development Council (Silver Flight). Scott has served on multiple boards and leadership committees in both Florida and Washington, including impact fee committees and transportation advisory commissions.
